What We Do

Our donations go directly to funding the Evans Primary School & supporting the local community. This funding is spent in a number of ways:

• Providing regular salaries for 7 teachers and 1 cook that give them a living wage

• Building and maintenance work, for example building new toilet facilities

• Providing at least one hot meal a day for each child and teacher 

• Providing teaching supplies for the school, including educational books, stationary and furniture

In the longer term, we'd love to support bursaries for children to attend secondary school and generate a sufficient surplus to buy a permanent plot of land and build a concrete school. 

100% of donations are spent in Sierra Leone and the charity carries no overheads. All trustees and helpers in Sierra Leone work pro bono to ensure maximum benefit for the children, frequently using their own resources to help with fundraising and any exceptional running costs.
